Nov. 2007 DFT is interviewed by the NY times for an article on luxury knockdowns. DFT, known as one of the Northeast top home builders specializing in luxury knockdowns, was interviewed this week on what makes the perfect knockdown. With such a shortage of land in Greenwich CT, finding a building site in the right location is virtually impossible. Builders are going to homeowners on specific streets they want to build on and are trying to secure a building lot. It is becoming tougher and tougher to find good lots. You can pay 1/3 for the land of what the selling price of the new home will be." As new home sale prices decline, so does the amount builders can pay. DFT feels 2008 will be a very strong year in Greenwich simply due to supply and demand for new housing in the area.
